Seven persons were charged in county court records. Individual defendants include Robert T. Clifton, Sammy Ray Crane, Brenda Robinson, and Mrs. Buddy Green with worthless checks. Others named are Richard Patton Sr. for possession of liquor for sale, Glenn Rossman for intent to defraud, and Nellie Glover for intent to defraud.
County Clerk Mildred Palton's office lists six couples who secured licenses this week. Captain Sam J. Gardner releases 1968 rural traffic data for a 2-county Waco area. 5 450 crashes caused 260 deaths and 2 554 injuries, with property damage totaling 4 136 412 dollars. Cherokee County had 8 rural fatal crashes and 243 total rural incidents with 124 injuries.

A joint birthday party honored Mrs. Evie Ross of Maydelle and her twin Edward Kinney of Abilene on February 1 held at Mrs. Ross's Kinney residence. Attendees included Doyle and family from Houston, Earl and family from Rusk, Vernon and girls from Rusk, Howard and girls from Maydelle, Al ton Ross Jr and family from Lufkin, Joe Lufkin and James Scott families from Longview, Woody Knapp from Fort Worth, and several others from Rusk Maydelle and Longview.
