Police responded to a burglary on Gaye Drive where neighbor alarms led to Raymond L. Tapia, 59, fleeing in a vehicle. Officers pursued safely at distance and arrested Tapia near his South Main Street home on burglary and aggravated fleeing charges plus traffic offenses.
Shampane M. Baca a 20 year old of Hoagland Street was arrested after a 3 p.m. traffic stop in the 500 block of Cherry Street and charged with failure to comply. An outstanding warrant led to her arrest and she was later released on her own recognizance. A glass meth pipe was found in her purse and booked into property. Police say two men were seen trying to steal a car from a local dealership in the 2000 block of Southeast Main Street around 1:50 a.m.
