The National Association of Bankers holds its annual convention in Denver this week. Attendees from major financial institutions gather to discuss industry trends and policy developments.
Denver hosts more than three thousand bankers from across the United States for the American Bankers Association annual convention. Key topics include guaranty of bank deposits, currency reform, and regulatory issues with express companies and bills of lading. Prominent speakers from Massachusetts New York Illinois and Colorado attend with sessions on trust and savings banks. A frost warning closes the report noting an early season frost causing minor plant damage but no freezes.

Reports to the weather bureau announce widespread drought relief as rains bring cooler conditions. Light rains and general precipitation lift hopes Eastern U S drought may be broken while frost is recorded in Kansas Missouri and Nebraska and in Texas frost nips tender vegetables.

In New York delegates who traveled by diverse means formed the First National Convention of the Unemployed. J Eads Howe of St Louis, dubbed the Millionaire Hobo, planned the event and welcomed arrivals. The principal topic at the session was The Health of the Unemployed.
The annual convention of the Association of New Mexico firemen is set for Albuquerque on Monday October 5 at 10 a m. There will be no tournament this year.
A battalion from the Military Institute left Sunday night for Albuquerque with band, cheering friends, and a big crowd at the station to attend the National Irrigation Congress and compete in drills and maneuvers. The cadets, under strict military discipline, departed with precision. Major Martini kept a small guard at the Institute.
Judge W W Gatewood, chairman, organized a Bryan Larrazolo Club for Eddy County in Carlsbad. Sixty charter members joined the first night, with Judge Grantham elected chairman J S Crozier secretary and Judge Armstrong treasurer. A campaign fund was started and plans set to expand membership from Texico southward.
