The Eastern New Mexico State Fair Parade opens a five day event led by Roswell Jaycees chair Tom Jennings. About 110 entries including 21 bands and 13 floats will march from 10th and Main to Highland Park amid new safety rules and a fairy tale theme. Roswell Robbery Incidents Leave Two Uninjured
A Roswell man and woman escaped injury in separate weekend robberies police said. Joseph A. Connell Jr., 63, was shot at twice during a Saturday robbery of Connell Grocery at 712 W Hendricks St. Etta Cawood, 44, of 1000 W Summit St, was threatened with a handgun Sunday night near Lee Mack Laundry at 511 E Second St. Three teens, ages 17, 15, and 14, were arrested over the Saturday incident and turned over to juvenile authorities. no arrests were reported in the Sunday case.
