Berlin Sept 26 The end of Germany's passive resistance to the occupation of the Ruhr was proclaimed officially today. The proclamation declared the government will not sign any agreement tearing away any portion of the nation from the Teiel. The German government is now awaiting the reaction of the Allies. The population received the news with apathy.
The Amarillo News notes Amarillo hosts many New Mexico oil operators seeking financial aid to develop promising lands in the Pecos Valley. J Taylor of Clovis uses Amarillo as HQ at the Amarillo Hotel and plans a refinery with Amarillo capital. Georgetown Texas September 26 Murray Jackson alleged member of a band that flogged R W Burleson last April was given five years in prison by a jury last night The case was considered by the jury in about twenty minutes Testimony said Jackson was a Klansman and that the Klan planned to raise funds to act him in fighting the charges

Lucile Cruse won with 97 7506 votes to become queen at the Roswell carnival ball held at the Armory. Tennie May Knighten was first maid of honor with 88 660 votes, followed by Gladys Tanner 32 370 and Helen Herbst 22 030. The Elks praised fair voting, announced prizes including a diamond-platinum dinner ring for the queen and pearl necklace for the first maid, and noted the float will lead the parade with a design by AV. Speed is expected to approach that of the 200 kilometer Pulitzer race held the same day.
