Ruidoso Downs and Sunland Park Tracks Put Up For Sale
Owners of Ruidoso Downs and Sunland Park race tracks announced they will sell the properties to end a licensing battle with Fortuna Properties Inc. The Alessio family of San Diego has controlled the tracks for five years and faced a vote on their license by the New Mexico Racing Commission. The commission recessed without ruling on a trustee motion.

Negotiations for a site lease on New Mexico Military Institute land for the Chaves County Amphitheater are expected to be finalized next week. An advisory board of county officials, the Institute, city, school district and Roswell Chamber of Development and Commerce would oversee the project funded by a $236,497 EDA grant on three acres east of the Institute.
