Dismissal With Prejudice in New Mexico Doctors Search Case
A civil case in Silver City against two Deming doctors over an anal cavity search for drugs was dismissed with prejudice at the plaintiff’s request after a 1.6 million settlement in 2014. David Eckert, age 54 in 2013, was taken to Gila Regional Medical Center for the procedure on Jan 2 near Deming after a traffic stop and warrants. No drugs were found following two X-rays colonoscopy and three enemas. The tale reflects ongoing legal and medical scrutiny in Hidalgo County.
