Arrests Made in Albuquerque Bank Robberies
An Albuquerque woman Denise Cuenca and a homeless teenager Russell Boyd were arrested in connection with five bank robberies in September and early October. Investigators linked Boyd to the Wells Fargo robbery and a Sept. 10 NM Federal Credit Union heist. Cuenca is accused in three other robberies including Rio Grande Credit Union on Sept. 4 and Bank of the West on Sept. 5. Police say Cuenca admitted committing the crimes driven by voices in her head and used cash for crack cocaine. Authorities recovered about $4,000 across the three Cuenca robberies.
