Chaves County 4 H-ers shine at New Mexico State Fair

Chaves County 4 H members earned state exhibition rights by winning at the local Achievement Day and display 69 entries at the State Fair in Albuquerque. Winners include Tammy Belyeu Lisa Dupree David Estes Cindy Magness Barbara McMinn Nedra Seitern Michelle Williams and Thomas Williams with multiple blue ribbons across home economics and general exhibits.

Solar Heated Aviation Maintenance Building Nears 1979 Finish

Construction of the $1 million Aviation Maintenance Building at Eastern New Mexico University Roswell remains on schedule for a February 1979 completion. The 23,000 square foot facility will train airframe and power plant mechanics, built by John C. Cornell Inc of Clovis with Kruger Lake Hutchinson Brown Inc of Albuquerque as architect.
