Lt. Gen. Richard T. Knowles Dies at 96 in Roswell

Retired Lt. Gen. Richard T. Knowles died at age 96 in his Roswell home. Born 1916 in Chicago, he served 32 years in the Army from 1942, earning the Silver Star and multiple high decorations. He helped establish the New Mexico Legislative Scholarship in 1989 to aid cadets at NM Military Institute.
