Night Auto Crash Kills One Near Baldwin Mo

An automobile containing two men and two women plunged down a thirty foot embankment near Baldwin Missouri while attempting to avoid a farmer’s wagon. One occupant, John Kalleen of New York, died. The others were injured. Cars were traveling at speed. driver tried to steer away and lost control. Separately, naval target practice in Washington showcased eight hits out of nine with eight inch guns from North Atlantic Squadron.

School Board Meeting Briefly Closes Agenda

The school board met yesterday at two o’clock in the City Clerk’s office with little business of public interest. Miss Attebury was hired as a regular teacher. The City Council was asked to build walks to the school buildings, and gravel walks are being laid at the high school grounds.
