Old Cloudcroft narrow gauge line ends in 1948
The Cloudcroft to Alamogordo railroad, once a scenic narrow gauge line with a 338 foot trestle and 30 degree reverse curves, ended passenger and mail service in 1938 and freight in 1947. The line was dismantled by 1948, leaving memories of summer El Paso excursions and a community era.
