Salazar creates Sangre de Cristo Conservation Area
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar designated the Sangre de Cristo Conservation Area in Colorado's San Luis Valley after Louis Bacon pledged a large conservation easement. Bacon will protect nearly 77,000 acres of his Trinchera Ranch, with plans to add a Blanca Ranch easement, creating a vast landscape of private and public lands and a major migratory wildlife corridor.
