Roswell resident Morgan Nelson, turning 94, preserves extensive Chaves County history in 30 to 40 notebooks. His works cover Roswell, Chaves County, New Mexico topics from his First Baptist Church to state utilities. He remains a member of the Chaves County Flood Commission as the Berrendo floods.
Nelson born 1919 recalls Roswell in trees and flood memories while planning to turn East Grand Plains and birthplace writings over to the Southeast New Mexico Historical Society. He published one Roswell history by Lucius Dills, proceeds to the Society, limited edition copies $30. See SPOTLIGHT A3.
