Kennedy murder conspiracy case pleads innocent

Three defendants David J. King Sandra R. Rondeau and Robert E. White pleaded innocent in Springfield District Court to a federal plot to murder Senator Edward Kennedy. The case was continued to Sept. 20 as investigators call the charge possibly idle talk.

Croatian hijackers face murder charges in officer’s death

The Manhattan district attorney seeks murder counts against five Croatian nationals linked to a fatal bombing during a 30 hour hijacking of a Trans World Airlines 727 flight. They were escorted to the federal courthouse in Brooklyn by the FBI for federal air piracy arraignment.

RHS Players Due Hepatitis Shots After Student Hospitalized

Roswell High School officials announced vaccination for the varsity football team after one player Richard Villescas was hospitalized with hepatitis. Villescas, son of Clemente and Mrs. Villescas of 905 E. Cherry St., was admitted to St. Marys Hospital and released. The district, with county health officials, aims to prevent spread as hepatitis status remains unclear. Villescas played in the season opener against Del Norte but sat out a later game against Alamogordo.

Cadets react to possible coeducation at NMMI

New Mexico Military Institute cadets varied in reaction to a regents decision that the school may go coeducational in January. Some newer cadets welcomed the change saying it would improve the environment, while older cadets offered cautious or neutral views about the impact on campus life.
