Democrats captured the Maine governorship for the first time in 18 years and elected two of three House members as results trickled in from 632 precincts. Louis J. Brann led Burleigh Martin by 1,387 with 18 precincts unreported. Beedy led Connolly by 2,077 in the third district. All Democratic candidates favored repeal of prohibition.
