Two drilling projects proceed near Roswell with local companies financing work. Commanche Drilling Company contracts E B Guess and L P Daniels to drill a well about three quarters of a mile northeast of the Rog ers well, to 1500 feet, starting by September 25. The Roswell Oil Syndicate hires Nay Hightower to drill a second well about four miles southeast of the first, to 1600 feet, starting early next week, in the Lillian Hinkle permit, southeast quarter of section 17, township 11 south, range 27 east. Oil has been shown at Rogers at 1242 feet.

Seer Kidnapers Of Sister Of Mrs Pat Boone
Littlefield Texas September 12 AP two men described as the kidnappers of Miss Lillian Hopping a 26 year old English teacher at Littlefield high school were sought by officers along the Texas New Mexico border. The abductors abducted her at pistol point Monday night as her captors tire punctured in a pasture 25 miles from Littlefield. She slipped away when the tire was punctured and reported the men believed they were kidnapping Mrs Pat Boone wife of the Littlefield estate manager who owns properties in Littlefield and Austin and cattle in New Mexico. Mrs Boone and her husband were away at the time of the incident.
