Shootout at former convent ties Chicano group to assault charges
Santa Fe police say ten members of a militant Chicano group were charged with aggravated assault after a 45 minute gunfight at Agua Fria near Santa Fe that wounded four people including two officers. Two rifles and two pistols were recovered and up to 75 officers participated in the response. The group had been using the convent property under an Archdiocese agreement.
