Oil group selects ex state official to lead New Mexico producers
Ryan Flynn, former head of the New Mexico Environment Department, will serve as executive director of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, replacing retiree Steve Henke. The appointment drew criticism from environmentalists who warn of a revolving door between government and industry amid a downturn in oil prices that hurt jobs and state revenue. Flynn resigned as environment secretary in August after Gov. Susana Martinez appointed him in 2013 to lead the agency.
