France Delivers Ultimatum to Germany Over Poland

Germany declares war on Poland over border tensions

Berlin reports Adolf Hitler announced Danzig would join the German Reich and ordered the army to meet force with force amid alleged Polish border violations. Freight Train Derails Near Artesia in Santa Fe Route

A Santa Fe northbound freight derailed eight cars five miles north of Artesia after a sun kinked rail tore up a quarter mile of track. No injuries reported.
