Frank W. Clancy, 76, first attorney general of New Mexico and notable territorial era lawyer, died at his Santa Fe home after a brief illness. Mrs. Rufus Phillips of Portales was killed and G W Jacques was seriously injured when two tires on the right side of their automobile blew out and overturned the car near Portales. Mrs Phillips was driving returning from Clovis with Jacques. The tires blew during a turn and the car overturned twice. Phillips skull and chest crushed. Jacques suffered multiple broken ribs and breast injuries but was reported testing well today.
