Mescalero Sands: Dunes Recreation Site Near Roswell Explained
Mescalero Sands, about thirty miles east of Roswell off U.S. Highway 380, draws 10 000 visitors yearly. The BLM notes three areas within the complex, with the public area offering dunes for motorized and non motorized recreation and facilities. Wildlife thrives here from bats to mule deer and white tail deer, plus many birds and reptiles. Admission is 3 50 per person or 5 per vehicle, with yearly passes at 20 starting November.
