Hanrahan Acquitted in 1969 Panther Slayings Conspiracy

Illinois State's Attorney Edward Hanrahan is acquitted of conspiracy to obstruct justice related to the 1969 raid that killed Fred Hampton and Mark Clark. Judge Romiti granted a directed verdict after proceedings lasting more than 14 weeks. Eleven codefendants were freed with Hanrahan.

Ferguson Leads Roswell Parade For Senator Campaign

Senator Bob Ferguson of Artesia, a Democrat incumbent, led a 35 vehicle caravan in a parade this morning in Roswell. The procession started at North Main and College Streets and moved south to Poe Street as part of the Ferguson for Senator campaign.
