Roswell approves amphitheater revitalization deal
Roswell City Council approved a plan with the Young Professionals for the Arts Collective and the New Mexico Military Institute to reopen the dormant NMMI Amphitheater at 1600 N Grand Ave. The council raised concerns about city maintenance costs during the October 8 meeting.

City approves amphitheater use agreement with NMMI
After about 30 minutes of discussion the City Council voted eight to one to authorize City Manager Steve Polasek to sign a memo of understanding with NMMI to allow city use of the NMMI Amphitheater. The venue, owned by NMMI and southeast of the Wool Bowl, has stood idle since 2011 while plans for a community arts venue are explored.

Former bailiff sues Roswell court for discrimination
A former Roswell Municipal Court bailiff filed a racial discrimination complaint with the EEOC. Tiaz Johnson says he was the only African American bailiff and was terminated September 29 after being monitored and warned without prior written notice amid a Hispanic female staff majority.
