Secretary of State Henry Kissinger met with Chairman Mao Tse-tung at Mao's Peking home for one hour and forty minutes. The State Department gave no details, only noting the meeting was useful. Kissinger traveled with Nancy Kissinger and seven aides amid his China visit.

Refugees to form mini community in Roswell
The State Planning Office plans to bring a small group of South Vietnamese refugees to Roswell next week to start a mini community. Allen Weir and local officials formed a committee to organize housing in vacant Wherry units at Roswell Industrial Air Center with funds from HEW. The plan estimates 5 to 10 refugee families, with final numbers to be set by the local committee.

Floyd 68 died at 8 20 a m at St Marys Hospital after his car crossed U S 70 and was struck by a vehicle driven by Johnny E Dawson 42 of Auto Route West. Passenger Ron Mitchell 45 was in fair condition at St Marys. No citations issued. Floyd a longtime Roswell resident and former state employee was active in politics and fraternal groups.
