Police gunfire investigated in Artesia by NMSP unit
The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau probes a Monday shooting of Artesia man Ronnie Dunnavant, 47, by a Pecos Valley Drug Task Force agent. Dunnavant, a suspect on warrants for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and criminal damage, was shot at 1922 Willia St. and fled before barricading inside a South 40th Street residence.
