Bank siege ends as gunmen killed and hostages rescued
Security forces stormed the Bank of America building in Beirut and killed two guerrillas while freeing 39 hostages held for a 10 million dollar ransom. An American hostage, John Crawford Maxwell, 52, died in the final gunbattle. 32 Lebanese workers and four other nationals were among those released. Five gunmen had seized the bank Thursday.
