Jane Katherine Smith of Lubbock Texas and Lester Alan Collum of Lubbock wed in a double ring ceremony at the bride’s home. The ritual was conducted by Horace Coffman of the Broadway Church of Christ. Parents of the bride are named in the article.
The Viernes Book Club met at Mrs. Ronald Corn's home with co host Mrs. George Glass and 15 members present. New member Mrs. Ermine James welcomed. guests included Mrs. George Sacra and Mrs. Joe Phillips. Officers appointed to nominate 1971 officers. Mrs. Anna Cooley introduced Mrs. Phillips from Roswell Story League who read two stories. The event included a wedding notice for a Roswell area bride and groom with reception at home and future Houston residence.

Monday night moves to Tuesday at the Roswell Savings and Loan Civic Room starting 7 45 p m partners arranged by Mrs Joseph Maley. Junior game remains Wednesday at the Roswell Inn at 7 45 p m for beginners with partnerships via Col R G Crandall. Thursday afternoon game at the Roswell Inn begins 12 45 p m with Mrs Don Roff coordinating partnerships. Winners from each session listed with partner names and placements.
Registration remains open for the Homes Short Course offered by the Cooperative Extension Service of New Mexico State University. Jewell M. Limacher notes registration at 622-3210 or the county home agent’s courthouse office. Two sections run Mondays and Tuesdays for four weeks from Oct 26 or 27, with a $2.50 fee covering booklets.
