Blood pressure drug May Protect High-Risk Patients From Diabetes
A preliminary analysis in a Journal of the American Medical Association report finds ramipril, an ACE inhibitor sold as Altace, reduced diabetes incidence by over 30 percent in 5,720 high risk patients with vascular disease or risk factors. Researchers urge confirmation from targeted studies.
