Cahoon Park could gain a miniature train as the City Council weighs a deal amid potential objections from local property owners. Talks consider letters to objectors and a public meeting, with costs for tunnel construction and operation.
Alderman Winston Daniel criticized overnight parking at a City Council breakfast, saying sweepers skip five cars and fail to clean streets. City code bans overnight parking from 2 to 5 a.m. except for on call physicians. Mayor Tucker noted long-standing issues and the matter may go to the police department.

Mark Draper and Carl Caruthers will report on growth. Hagerman and Dexter residents provide entertainment. Four directors will be elected and financial reports reviewed. All members urged to attend.

The City of Roswell will dispose of three old vehicles, including two water department pickups and a 196 International and a 1947 Dodge, plus a 1942 Allis Chalmers tractor. They will fetch 250 dollars total with individual prices at 75 dollars for two trucks and 100 dollars for the tractor. City Manager C. M. Woodbury received authorization from the City Council at a breakfast meeting held at 7 30 a.m. in the Nickson Hotel.
The State Oil Conservation Commission heard a staff proposal to maintain an all time record low 37 barrels per day allowable for November. The low figure would raise October output by about 2000 barrels daily due to new well production. The meeting also debated whether two major oil firms must take 100 percent of the allowable, with Gulf and Magnolia defending their reduced New Mexico crude purchases. The commission did not act immediately.
