Former Roswell ADA Jean Garvey Dies After Albuquerque Car Crash
Former assistant district attorney Jean Garvey died after a vehicle collision on NM 47 near Peralta while commuting from her Albuquerque home to work south of the city. Garvey, 38, had worked in Roswell for about 15 months before leaving in May to join Lar Thomas' firm in Los Lunas. Her mass is at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Albuquerque, and she is survived by her mother Consuelo, father Eugene, sisters Patricia Ortiz Cathy Garvey and twin Consuelo Sierra. Memorials may be sent to Consuelo Garvey for funeral expenses.

804th reunites at Sally Port Inn in annual gathering
The 804th Tank Destroyer Battalion held its 22nd reunion at the Sally Port Inn from Sept 28 to 30. Twenty veterans and 41 family members attended. A tea and business meetings were held, a memorial service honored fallen members, and 40 plus attended brunch before departures.

Man steals plane in Idaho drops pipe bomb no injuries
Raymond Montgomery stole a Champion 76C from Preston airport, flew low to snap power lines, and dropped a homemade pipe bomb that did not explode. He landed on a Thiokol Corp airstrip in Utah after a 50 mile flight. no injuries reported. He faces charges later.
