Housing shelter closes in Roswell after 5 years
The House of Hope and Faith homeless shelter at 400 S. Michigan Ave Roswell closes on Oct 8 after opening June 1 2009. Dr Babak Mirin funded the project and laments economic pressures while seeking a nonprofit group to take over the facility aiding 10 to 20 residents with 24/7 psychiatric service.

Roswell Buddy Walk supports Down syndrome programs
The sixth annual Roswell Buddy Walk Saturday at 10 a.m. at Spring River Park and Zoo raises funds for the Down Syndrome Foundation of Southeastern New Mexico. Registration is 15 per person or 50 for a family of four, includes lunch and a 2010 T-shirt. Proceeds fund local Roswell programs and scholarships.
