Eastern New Mexico State Fair caps best since 1963

The 1976 Eastern New Mexico State Fair drew record attendance and gate totals, with 32 215 paid admissions and about 21 000 dollars in gate receipts. The Junior Livestock Sale set a 69 883 dollar record, surpassing last year, while per pound prices for grand champion calfs and lambs also rose. Rodeo attendance reached 2 888, keeping the fair financially in the black for the third year. Fair officials await final tallies with bills not yet counted.
