State officials tour southeastern New Mexico to meet local leaders
State Planning Officer David King and officials from the Parks and Recreation Commission and the governor's office are on a three day visit to Clovis Hobbs Artesia Carlsbad and Roswell. They will meet Roswell city and county leaders to strengthen local government ties. The Roswell Chamber of Development and Commerce hosts a 4 30 p m meeting with city council members and county commissioners. The Roswell Daily News notes ongoing Retail Council plans to raise funds for Christmas lights and repairs as 10 year old decorations need replacement. Future RCDC efforts include promoting Spring River Park and its new train and monkey house and an upcoming horse industry seminar December 11 13 endorsed by the New Mexico Racing Commission.
