Roswell Refuge for Battered Women partners with the Roswell Community Little Theatre to present the play Family Secrets by Beverly Boone at Pueblo Auditorium in Roswell. Performances run Friday October 17, Saturday October 18 at 7 pm and Sunday October 19 at 3 pm to raise awareness and provide resources for victims.
Authorities seized more than 1 million dollars worth of marijuana plants in a Jemez Valley grow operation spanning two large areas with hundreds of plants nearly five feet tall. Deputies reported over 1,000 plants on public land and up to a dozen people suspected of involvement, with no arrests yet. The operation marked the largest seizure in a decade.

New Mexico ranchers ask a federal judge to halt Forest Service fencing in the Lincoln and Santa Fe national forests to protect the New Mexico meadow jumping mouse habitat. The bid mirrors a prior Albuquerque lawsuit by the same ranchers and groups. The Forest Service has already closed areas to safeguard the species under the Endangered Species Act.
