ATF Special Agent in Charge Bernard J. Zapor announced a reward up to five thousand dollars for information leading to arrests in six pipe bombs found in Roswell and Clovis between February 13 and May 14. The probe, with New Mexico State Police Bomb Squad, Clovis and Roswell police, seeks tips at 1 888 ATF BOMB. Six devices, all outdoor and nonexploding, included one unique homemade hand grenade in Roswell.

Mesilla Woman Sentenced in 2011 Death of Husband
Mesilla resident Kemberlee Guffey, 45, was sentenced to two years in prison with one year suspended for her husband’s 2011 death outside their home. After release she faces one year of supervised probation and intensive anger management therapy. Guffey initially reported a fatal fall and chest puncture, later admitting to a fight with her 42-year-old spouse and facing an open murder charge in 2012.

Brink wins Best in Show at Eastern New Mexico State Fair
Eleven year old Hannah Brink of the Diamond H 4-H Club in Roswell led Chilla the Mini Lop buck to Best Fancy and Best in Show as 45 competitors entered 214 rabbits. Judge Raenelle Harris of Texas praised Chilla among 25 top rabbits. Brink shared the win after three years showing rabbits and hard daily work.
