A Belle Fontaine street car jumped the track in St Louis on November 28 at a curve, overturning and injuring fourteen passengers, with Charles J Warner killed. The crash occurred as the car ran at full speed, struck the curb, and toppled onto the street.
An artist insisted on meeting the President to request painting his portrait. The encounter highlighted the artist’s push for official recognition and the political figure’s response.
St Louis reports Maria Herndl a Munich born Milwaukee glass painter arrested for trying to see President Roosevelt. She has good Milwaukee reputation and World's Fair exhibits, aims to paint his portrait, and was advised to contact Wisconsin officials for an audience.

New York reports a $190 800 suit by Herbert D Newton of Brookline Mass against Cassie Chadwick of Cleveland Ohio. He claims Chadwick promised bonds valued at 5 000 000 held in trust by Ira Reynolds and a negotiable 500 000 note to cover the loan, while banks press for additional recoveries totaling 267 840.
Dr W L Coleman aged 70 of Houston Texas died at home after a long medical career. He was a national authority on Yellow fever serving during several epidemics and received the Howard medal for epidemic service. During the Spanish American War he was sent by the U S government as an expert examiner of yellow fever conditions. He authored a widely regarded book on Yellow Fever.
The Territorial Secretary certifies Riverside Oil Company filed Articles of Incorporation on November 22, 1904. The document lists J A Cottingham and others as corporators, declares corporate name Riverside Oil Company, and states the corporation exists from 1904 until November 22, 1954 with authority to own real estate and operate under mining and public laws.
The jury in the Nan Patterson case has been discharged due to illness. The trial will resume next Monday in New York.
D. T. Bulloch and wife from Roby Texas visit Roswell to dispose of property owned by Mrs Bulloch who was formerly Annie B Havis of this city. They married here about two years ago to D T Bulloch, the Fisher county clerk and editor of the Ruby Banner. Mrs Bulloch is well liked and has many friends in Roswell.
Dr Robert L Bradley his wife and two children journey to New Orleans to place their young daughter Roberta in a hospital for skin grafting after deep facial burns. The family plans a weeks long stay while the father T F Bradley remains in Fort Worth for a visit before reuniting.
J. D. Jones learned his 11 acre deeded claim in the oil belt at Lakewood has been sold for $2,000. The sale was conducted by W. R. Allison, a Carlsbad real estate man, but the buyer’s name was not disclosed.
Cattle prices edged down about 1% across classifications in Kansas City on November 28. Native steers ranged 3.50 to 6.25, southern steers 2.50 to 4.25, southern cows 1.50 to 8.25, native cows and heifers 1.50 to 5.00, stockers and feeders 2.50 to 4.10, bulls 1.75 to 3.50, calves 2.50 to 6.00, western steers 3.00 to 4.75, western cows 1.50 to 3.50. sheep near steady with slight drops. Muttons 0.75 to 5.25, lambs 4.50 to 6.00, range webbers 1.64 to 4.90, ewes 2.50 to 4.92.
Hon. William M. Daniel of Clarksville Tennessee visits the city as guest of his sons T M Daniel and R H Daniel of Daniel and Daniel drug firm. Daniel was a prominent attorney in Clarksville and once ran for governor on the Democratic ticket, losing by a small plurality.
Ellis N. Hicks, who moved from Ulinois to seek the climate benefit, will spend the winter in Dexter. Mayor J F Hinkle, his wife and child, left for El Paso last night and will proceed to Alamogordo for a few days.
Andy M. Robertson of Continental Oil departs by morning train to visit his mother father brothers and sister in Kansas City. He will be away about a month with Joe J. Jones supervising the business in his absence.

Viscount Matthew White Ridley former secretary of state home department of Great Britain died suddenly at his Northumberland home Blagdon. He was born in 1842 and died of heart failure in his sleep.
The Allery Furniture Co reports receipt of two fine white furniture wagons for Artesia and for a local expansion, plus a white ambulance wagon with rubber tires plate glass windows and fine lamps. The metropolitan wagon costs $1 000.
A large crowd gathered yesterday afternoon near the Seventh Street bridge to witness the baptism of two members of the Baptist church for the colored congregation just organized here. Rev. J B Bell conducted the services.

Also note a missing Shetland pony nine years old, dark sorrel, owned by Geo M Slaughter, with return request to Slaughter's farm.

In southwestern St. Louis eight of twelve Italian laborers digging a trench for water mains were buried when a cave-in caused by a bursting pipe collapsed the trench. Eight men are feared dead, with three rescued corpses recovered within twenty minutes. The disaster followed a sudden roof collapse as tons of clay fell.
