Austin November 27 Railroad Commissioner Gil orders all West Texas lines to report daily the number of cars needed to move stock. The aim is to monitor stock car shortages and provide relief to shippers. If shortages are not serious, a request will be sent to the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington for relief.

Union Thanksgiving services will be held Thursday at 10 30 a m in the Southern M E Church. Rev Rudolph Caughey of the First Presbyterian Church will preach the sermon inviting all to turn thanks for the many blessings enjoyed by this section and the world.

In Bristol Tennessee on November 27, Ben Burchfield is jailed as burial arrangements are made for five murder victims. The Smith home, a grocer James W. Smith, was burned to the ground. Bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Burchfield, and two children found in the ruins. Burchfield previously divorced from his wife, who lived with the Smiths.
San Francisco November 27 United States destroyer fleet in Pacific waters is rotting due to neglect. Officers estimate about eighty destroyers are decommissioned near San Diego, with $125 million in phantom squadrons deteriorating. Only two full squadrons are active at half crew. Dry docking and full crews are impractical under current conditions.
