Patrolman Bob Durham said Joel Curtis Alexander, 18, Odessa, Texas, was driving east in the 700 block of West Second Street when he dropped a bottle of soft drink. Leaning down to pick it up, his car veered and struck a parked car. Alexander was charged with careless driving.
