The Roswell High School football team traveled to Artesia for the season finale against Artesia High School aided by players from the Western M E College of Artesia. New York November 26. Jack Johnson the heavyweight champion was arrested yesterday on charges of assault and disorderly conduct regarding Annette Cooper a show girl. She did not appear to prosecute but sent a letter with a doctor’s certificate saying she had been ill for ten days and asked that Johnson be kept in custody until she could appear. The magistrate refused to delay the case.
Chicago dated November 26 reports Michael Cudahy founder of the Cudahy Packing interests is in very serious condition after a relapse following an appendectomy operation.
R H Aldons of Tucumcari is in town assessing local business affairs and handling errands for his interests.
Police found enough gun cotton in a wagon being steered by a blind horse on Chicago's west side to blow up blocks. They arrested the driver after securing the wagon. A truck of gun powder was later found unguarded at Union Station with untied horses, leading to additional arrests.
Providence Ky Nov 26 All hope of rescuing alive any of the eleven miners entombed in mine No 3 of the Providence Mining Company was abandoned today when rescuers reached the blast site. Three bodies were recovered under debris in a gas filled chamber.
