St Louis on November 25 G W Halliday former banker confessed to counterfeiting French certificates valued at 1 5 million dollars. He says he passed 63000 of the notes through St Louis banks to cover losses thought to exceed 140000 and is held without bond.
River traffic nearly stops as about 11,000 dock workers walk out on November 25 in New Orleans. Police rush to the river front to guard against trouble from 400 strike breakers arriving at the site.
In Fort Smith Arkansas on November 24 a car plunged 25 feet from a bridge over a railroad injuring nine people, two seriously. Emergency crews transported the wounded to local hospitals as investigators began reviewing the crash scene.
Mrs Mildred Boone died at 9 30 this morning at the W T Littlefield ranch four miles from Kenna. She had gone to Kenna with her daughter Mrs D N Pope to spend Thanksgiving. A finger injury days earlier preceded sudden illness linked to tetanus. D N Pope and Mrs George French rushed to the bedside but arrived after her passing. She lived here for years and leaves three children, a husband and many friends.
Mrs Mason and E A Paddock named by Judge Brice to serve on the Chaves County board of education replacing resigning members. Mason is a Democrat and Paddock a Republican. In police court Leo Vigia pled guilty to vagrancy with a 20 dollar fine plus costs, and Jim Towsend pled guilty to a traffic violation with a one dollar fine plus costs. Roswell wins 14 to 0 at Clovis as Mack Fyffe and Reetor score after a scoreless three quarters. Fyffe returned a punt for 45 yards, then Reetor crossed. Fyffe kicked goals after both Roswell scores. Roswell ends season with 226 points allowed and earns state high school championship under coach J. D. Shinkle. officials R. R. Brown and G. E. Kopp praised for fair officiating.
