Engineers Win Wage Increase on Santa Fe Line
Topeka Kan November 25 The Santa Fe System through J E Hurley general manager has granted locomotive engineers on the Albuquerque to El Paso division higher pay. Rates rise from 3 65 and 3 75 per hundred miles to 3 75 and 3 90 matching the La Junta to Raton division. Engineers apart from passenger service are relieved from filling grease cups. A request for higher pay for New Mexico division freight engineers was denied by Hurley.
