Race for New Mexico GOP chair draws two familiar faces
Outgoing U S Representative Steve Pearce and businessman John Rockwell announced bids to become chair of the New Mexico Republican Party. Pearce, 71, was defeated for governor by Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham, while Rockwell, 67, previously sought the chair in 2012 and 2016. Pearce said he aims to rebuild the party and may run again for the 2nd Congressional District in 2020.
