Washington November 19 The first crisis of the arms limitation conference seems near. The United States stands firm on its naval program while Japan demands a 70 percent ratio of US and England. Britain touts the conference as a success as smaller powers back the United States on submarines.
Henry Ford's offer for the Muscle Shoals project was largely agreed upon in a bedside meeting with Secretary Weeks. Edison was chosen to join Ford to Muscle Shoals for final cost estimates, with Ford leaving to confer with Edison in New York as Weeks lay ill.

In Montpelier Indiana a bandit attempting to rob the post office was killed after four men confronted him. Policeman Jerry Engle was wounded while stopping the raid and shot the attacker. three other robbers escaped.

Ten people were killed in Summit Illinois when a Santa Fe California Limited train struck a funeral procession auto. The Flyer plowed through the large car for 250 yards as thirteen people rode in the auto. Three others were seriously injured. The train traveled about 55 mph and a heavy snowstorm obscured the track from the chauffeur. The hearse carrying Emily Ziensnin had just cleared the track.
Weatherford Texas, November 19. After a 4114 hour deliberation the jury found Cecil Jensen guilty of murder in the death of James McNeal and fixed the punishment at ninety nine years. Jensen's lawyers immediately moved for the sentence and the court imposed it with no demonstration.

In Orange Texas on November 19 Floto the big bull elephant of the Sells Floto circus went on a rampage after being given tobacco. After an all night search a posse found him three miles into the countryside and shot and killed him. One man was severely injured as property repairs loom for the circus.
