Iowa tests new highway recycling method for U S 75
Rock Rapids Iowa AP reports a new process recycles old concrete into road base. The Iowa Highway Division tests crushing and mixing old concrete with sand and cement to create virgin-like aggregate, cutting costs by about 15 percent. Reconstruction of 1.4 miles of U S 75 will begin next spring under oversight by industry groups and state departments.
