NMHIX eyes coverage gaps as state plans extend SCI
NMHIX board met at ENMU Roswell to address insurance gaps for groups unable to enroll in the federal exchange. Interim CEO Mike Nunez said the state seeks CMS waivers to extend State Coverage Insurance while the exchange develops. About 10,000 of SCI’s 50,000 members may gain subsidized plans via the exchange. others will move to Medicaid as ACA expansions proceed.
