Albuquerque firm begins 42 inch water line to Kerr Well Field
Kent Nowlin Construction Inc of Albuquerque starts a 42 inch pipeline along the west Perimeter Road north of the Roswell Industrial Air Center as part of an 11 month project to connect the municipal water system to Kerr Well Field. The initial 12 mile network includes a 36 inch line from Chisum Street to Sunset Avenue and two shorter lines along West Second Street and West Country Club Road. The bid of 2.9 million dollars beat six regional firms and is part of an 11.2 million overall plan with three more projects bid later for pump storage, an additional well, and remedial lines. Traffic will be diverted with Main Street reduced to a single lane during connections.
