Wool Bowl picks Mesa and Coffeyville for 11th clash
The Thunderbirds of Mesa Community College and the Red Ravens of Coffeyville Community Jr College were chosen for the 11th Wool Bowl set for November 27 in Roswell New Mexico. Ellsworth Junior College declined due to travel costs while Wesley College was deemed too far. Mesa rode an 8-1-1 finish and 3rd ranking after a 35-14 win over NMMI. Coffeyville won the Kansas Conference title 22-14 over Independence.

A strong earthquake centered in northern Hopei Province shook Peking with tall buildings swaying and residents fleeing. Cat returns home after 800 miles and six months
In Belgrade Montana Betty Polhemus found her cat Eight Ball in Colorado Springs after he vanished last spring while visiting relatives. The cat traveled 800 miles and rejoined the family during a visit to the old neighborhood. He now stays indoors and purrs when called.
