Funston Takes Command of Southwestern Division in St Louis

Bomb Thrown at Trans-Baikal Governor Misses Target

In Irkutsk on November 13 a bomb aimed at General Rennen kampf, governor of Trans-Baikal, failed to injure him due to the explosive’s chilling. Two aides de camp were slightly hurt. The would‑be assassin, on the terrorists list for repressing mutinies, was captured and a head court martial held him within four hours. The prisoner is unidentified.

Exhibit car draws crowds to Pecos Valley samples

In Wichita an exhibit car with Pecos Valley farm product samples drew about 10 000 visitors near the Santa Fe depot. A register showed around 4 000 signatures by Sunday. A Foltz oversaw the car and its decorations, reflecting pride of the Santa Fe railway and Pecos Valley groups.
