Clinton P. Anderson, New Mexico icon, dies at 80
Former U.S. Senator Clinton P. Anderson died at his Albuquerque home after a stroke. A Democrat, he served in Congress from 1940 to 1948 and in the Senate from 1948 to 1972, later helping guide aviation and space policy, water projects, and conservation efforts. He is survived by his wife Henrietta, daughter Nancy Roberts, son Sherburne, and several grandchildren. Funeral plans were pending in Albuquerque.
